We’re a bit confused on what the excerpt will be of. We know that it was publicized that Jenna would be appearing on the June 2012 program, but we were under the impression that what aired was a repeat of her September 2008 appearance. If anyone has any insights or further information on this, please email spencer@simplyjennafischer.com. Thanks!

Jenna Fischer on 90-Calorie Brownies and Saying Goodbye to The Office
By Alyssa Longobucco for SELF

We all like to imagine that Pam Halpert (nee Beesly) is our water-cooler gossip buddy at The Office. Turns out, the actress behind everyone’s favorite secretary is just as awesome. On the heels of the announcement that The Office was closing its doors, SELF caught up with Jenna Fischer to dish on life as a mom, her signature dessert and of course, television’s favorite couple, PB&J.

A lot has changed since you appeared on our cover last. You got married, you had a gorgeous little boy. How have the last few years influenced your outlook?

You know, it’s funny. I know it sounds cliche, but having a kid completely changed my whole outlook on the world and on other people. I feel like I have so much more compassion now and I feel so much more connected to other human beings. My family is my priority; it trumps everything else. I find it so exciting that the needs of others are ahead of mine, and it’s just a different place to come from. I find it very centering.

When we did your cover story, we gave you some fun challenges, like make a crock-pot meal, reconnect with an old friend, don’t use your BlackBerry. Have you challenged yourself to do anything similar recently?

I did! I gave up reading all tabloid websites and tabloid news. I challenged myself to give it up for one week and I ended up liking how it felt so much that I gave it up for two weeks. Now, it’s been almost a month. I didn’t realize how often I was going to those websites just out of boredom or habit. I gave up reading tabloids the week that Jennifer Aniston got engaged, so I didn’t know. I was so tempted to go read about it, but I didn’t! All I know is that it happened.

Do you avoid your Twitter feed, too?

I don’t avoid my Twitter feed. In fact, I follow Alyssa Milano on Twitter and she posts some of the best articles! She is a great follow. I have to say, she helped to get me through this little period of time. You know who else does? Elizabeth Banks. They post really interesting articles and little facts, so that helped.

Season nine is going to be the final season of The Office. Do you feel like you’re ready for that period in your life to end?

I never want it to end, ever! I could do it for 30 years. I just love the people that I work with so much. The last nine years of my life have had so much stability that I didn’t have before. We decided to wrap it up now because we wanted to do it while we still have mostly everyone. We didn’t want to have everyone slowly leave throughout the years. We wanted to go out with a bang. So everyone signed on for this last season and we’re going to be able to do that.

Can you give us any little hints?

You know, they swore us to secrecy. I will say, they have charted out a plot line for every single character so that each person has an ending to their story. There are things in there that are surprises. It’s not going to be predictable endings.

Speaking of storylines, Pam and Jim have become one of the most iconic television couples of all time. How has it been playing that relationship throughout the years?

John and I will always have a very special bond because we have played an on-screen couple for so many years. I don’t know if I’ll ever be closer to a co-star than I am with him in terms of that bond of having acted together so intimately for so long and sharing a story like theirs. I know that it will be the most unique acting partner experiences that’ll I’ll have with someone.

Do you have a favorite food to treat yourself with?

I used to make homemade 90-calorie brownies and I would bring them to parties … they were a big hit with all my girlfriends. Obviously, after having a baby, I do not have time to pull off this homemade 90-calorie brownie. So, imagine my surprise when I’m in the grocery store and I come across the Fiber One 90-calorie brownie. I loved them so much that I teamed up with them. Now I can bring my 90-calorie brownie to every woman!

So now you get your little chocolatey fix and don’t feel guilty.

We actually serve them on-set at The Office now. They have a little basket on the food table because every afternoon they bring out boxes of donuts, cookies and pies. It’s tempting, but now they have my little basket of brownies, which is awesome.

What’s your favorite way to eat them?

What’s great about the Fiber One brownies is that you can build on them and put them in the microwave and put frozen yogurt on top and it’s still under 150 calories. Last night, I crumbled the chocolate cookie one into some frozen yogurt and mixed it up kind of like a brownie sundae. I need a real dessert. I don’t understand women who are satisfied with a bowl of strawberries for dessert. I don’t understand it.

Jenna Fischer’s Gooey Brownie Sunday Recipe (It’s Less Than 150 Calories!)
By Lexi Petronis, Glamour.com

Doesn’t Jenna Fischer–”The Office” star and new(ish) mom to son, Weston (he’s one!)–seem like she would be fun to hang out with? Smart, clever, funny… fun? Turns out she’s all of those things in real life. Oh, and there’s at least one more thing to add to the list: she’s also an excellent healthy snack creator.

I got to chat with Jenna about all things health-related (she’s got a new, cool partnership with Fiber One–more on that in a sec!) and, after about three seconds, completely forgot that she’s an incredibly successful actress who has smooched John Krasinski multiple times (for work, but still!). It was like hanging out with a fellow working mom who’s also just trying to figure out the secrets to keeping her family and herself happy and healthy. (Yeah, she’s awesome.) Take a look!

On trying to eat well when you’re also trying to make sure your baby eats well:
“Weston is self-feeding, but I’m still in that place where I’m helping him out a lot with a spoon, so I’m juggling eating for myself while feeding him. Really, my eating is caring for his eating. So I do my best to plan ahead. I bought a big, healthy bag of oatmeal that has no salt and no sugar, and I mix it with some fruit every morning. It’s fast and reliable. I get my variety from dinners. Sometimes I’ll even plan dinner expressly so that I can have leftovers for lunch: I’ll make four turkey burgers so I can save one for lunch the next day.”

On food indulgences:
“I have a vanilla latte every day. I always find a way so that I can have that one thing–sometimes my husband and I go for a walk and we stop for one. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to it. I might have to make sacrifices in other places to balance it out, but I’ll never give it up. My big Achilles heel is sweets. I love dessert. I love real dessert like cake and doughnuts and cookies. I like sweet things. I have to have a sweet every day or else I get pretty cranky.”

On Fiber One Brownies (and her yummy sundae recipe!):
“I discovered Fiber One Brownies on my own and I paired up with them. See, I used to make 90-calorie brownies. They were my thing! I’d take them to my girlfriend’s house, I’d take them to the set of ‘The Office.’ But after having my son, I have no time to make 90-calorie brownies. So when I first saw Fiber One’s brownies at the grocery store, imagine my surprise: I can have them back in my life! So I bought all three flavors, and I like them by themselves–but I love turning them into other desserts. I always try to keep desserts at 150 calories or less–you get a nice, substantial dessert that way. I put a chocolate brownie into the microwave for about seven seconds, then spoon some vanilla frozen yogurt and top with blueberries. It’s just so good.”

On keeping up with exercise as a working mom:
“I can’t exercise every day. When I’m on hiatus from work, I find ways to be active every day. But I don’t beat myself up when I can’t do it every day while I’m filming, because there’s no way. Still, my priority when I’m not working is to be with Weston, so I look for opportunities to be active with him–swimming, for example, where we can do it together. Or maybe I’ll pop in a video when he’s napping. But exercise… it’s harder than the food to fit into a working mom lifestyle. And don’t you want to strangle the person who says anyone can find 30 consecutive minutes to work out? This time of life is so special, so precious–and a big part of this time is that I can’t have everything exactly perfect. My body isn’t as toned, my house isn’t as clean. But I’m OK with that.”

Q&A with Actress Jenna Fischer
by Sasha At Parenting.com

The star of The Office, Fiber One spokesperson, and mom to son Weston, almost one, gets real about breastfeeding, working motherhood, and how long it really takes to lose the baby weight.

You’ve been refreshingly candid about not dropping the baby weight immediately. How did it happen for you?
It happened the way it happens for most women. I just waited to start exercising and making any real changes to my diet until I was getting good rest and was healed from child birth, which wasn’t until my son was about 6 months old. By then he was napping and sleeping about 6 or 7 hours a night. I personally wasn’t interested in doing much between focusing on him.

I’m not a person who goes to extremes. I believe in moderation. I don’t go on cleanses, And I believe in having real dessert! Before I had Weston I used to make homemade diet desserts. Obviously now I don’t have time to make homemade anything any more. But then I saw the 90-calorie Fiber One brownies in the grocery store, and they were amazing! If I know at the end of the day, I’m going to get dessert, it helps me eat healthy the rest of the day.

Did you feel pressure to drop pounds immediately?
I think I had this unrealistic expectation that it would be faster or easier. That that’s because that message is out there that you can lose weight so quickly after having a baby. But after investigating I found on average it takes about a year. I don’t want to send the message that’s it’s not important to lose the weight. Before I got pregnant, I was a fit person, and I had dreams when I was nine months pregnant about being able to be active and move my body again. But I had to be patient about the process and not rush it.

Did breastfeeding help?
There’s this message out there that you can breastfeed yourself skinny. For half of us, it’s true, but for about half of us breastfeeding makes us hold on to a weight. Every time Weston dropped a feeding, I dropped a pound. My body wanted to hold on to the weight to feed him.

What’s Weston up to these days?
He’s close to walking and knows lots of words. He’s such a sweet little boy–it’s every cliché that everyone says!

What do you love about having a boy?
Little boys love their mommies. I secretly wanted a boy, but you’re not supposed to say that. Then he was! I just love my little guy.

How do you make being a working mom work?
Well, I have really great support so I am very lucky, My husband and I have coordinated our schedules so that one of us is there when he gets up. We’re able to eat together as a family every night too, which is something I did as a kid. I also have an amazing nanny who brings Weston to see me at work. We really work hard to make family our priority. If we’re not working, we send the nanny home to give Weston the most normal life we can.

What’s the biggest surprise about being a mom?
How much I love every single part of it, and how I have an endless supply of patience and energy I didn’t know I had in me. Even the grunt work…I enjoy it!

Warning: Very minor spoilers – Ideas and new cast members.

‘The Office’ Back In Production For 9th Season
Written by Jack Maher for NBC 9 News

KUSA – Love NBC’s “The Office?” Your wait for season nine is nearly over. The show is back in production with some cast and producer changes.

Jenna Fischer, who plays the character of Pam on the show, is hopeful the show’s mojo will continue, since the Dunder Mifflin staff weathered the challenge of transitioning to new boss Andy following the departure of Steve Carell.

Fischer, who was our guest on 9NEWS at 5 a.m. was asked if she was happy with how season eight went.

“I was, and I wasn’t,” she explained. “There are a few things I would’ve liked to have done differently, but I was very pleased with how it ended. We really did our best. It was a blow to have Steve leave. It took us a little while to figure out how we were going to deal with that loss, but in the end, I think we did, and we’re going to come back even stronger.”

Fischer is hopeful of taking her character to a few new places this coming season.

“She has two kids, and she works with her husband every day … I’d like to see a little of that strain,” she explained. “I can only imagine if you worked 24/7 with your mate, and you’re raising two little ones, at a certain point, the shine comes off. I’d like to see us address some of that this season, and I think we probably will.”

While B.J. Novak’s Ryan, Mindy Kaling’s Kelly and James Spader’s Robert California are bidding adieu to the Scranton, Pa., office, Jake Lacy of “Better With You” has been cast as new hire Pete.

Lacy won’t be the only new face in the office. “Greek’s” Clark Duke has signed on as a series regular. How these new characters will transition into their full-time position on “The Office” will be up to executive producer Greg Daniels who is returning full time to oversee the show’s creative evolution this season.

Fans are also having to deal with the news that everyone’s favorite assistant regional manager, Dwight K Schrute III (Rainn Wilson) is going to be leaving to star in his own spin-off series on NBC.

It is described as a family comedy and will focus on the Schrute family beet farm and bed & breakfast that has been featured several times over the course of the series. Spearheaded by Wilson and The Office showrunner (and Toby) Paul Lieberstein, the seeds for Dwight’s upcoming show will be planted throughout season nine.
